Removing the black trim around the tailgate

Hi there,

I'm trying to remove the black piece of trim around the tailgate window on the outside of my 4runner



You can see it in that photo. Anyone know how to get it off without damaging it?

there's quite a few screws in it, about 5 across the top and 3 down each side, the lowest one is easy to see with the tailgate open, the others are all down in the gap in the middle of it wher the glass would go when you do the window up.
