  • Vibration

Yesterday I used the my 3.0 ssrx auto surf as a fixed point to winch my boat up the driveway. The second time I used it there was a vibration from I think the transmission chain. It appers mainly under acceleration and seems worse up hill, it seems to start about 35 mph. When I coast I normally get no vibration at all. I have checked both proppeller shafts and can feel no movement from the couplings. I greased both of them. The rear dif did however feel a little warm, I changed this oil and found some metalic dust/patricles on the drain plug. Next week I will have the wheels ballanced just to rule this out but I do not think it is that.

To rule out the rear prop shaft can I remove it and drive the surf in 4 wheel high on the front drive shafts? or will this damage things

After the winching i drove down a bank at an angle but nothing that I have not done before.

Any thoughts as to what to check

If the noise is there under acceleration, check that the exhaust isn't touching the body/chassis.
