I want to change the ATF in the box.
Can anyone tell me if there is a safe way of removing all the oil from the box without removing the box.
Is there some sought of drainage method.

There's a drian plug (bolt) on the bottom of the gearbox similar to the engine sump bolt.
Drain the fluid, replace bolt and re-fill through the gearbox dipstick tube. (yes, really!) get yourself a small tundish (funnel) so you don't make a mess, then it's just a case of trial and error to get the level right.
Check level with engine running, and go all through the gear positions then back to 'P' then while engine is running check level.

There's two pipes that lead to and from the bottom of the radiator. Pull these off, put them into a bucket each, put a small amount of ATF in each bucket, blip (but don't start) the engine.
One pipe will suck, one will 'blow'! Fill the suck bucket with ATF. Start the car and this will draw ATF through the entire box. The 'blow' bucket will collect old ATF. Run until clean oil is coming out of the blow hose.
This method uses a lot of oil.
If you are doing this, you may as well take the autobox sump pan off and clean the little gauze filter thats in there.
