  • Injector Gaskets?

Ok I'm lazy and can't get a definate answer.

Do the injectors require gaskets between the injector and the seats in the head? 3.0TD
Do the nozzle leakage pipes have gaskets beneath them?

I have just spoken to toyota parts (a person not the parts) and they say there are only 4 collapsible washers used which I have ordered at 98p each according to my frame no.

The 1KZ-TE online manual shows different - two non resusable gaskets below the nozzle leakage pipes and between the injector seats and the injector. I have no gaskets from memory but have small leaks on two injectors? Hence the ?
Someone mentioned the gaskets on the forum but I can find the thread?

Small seal under the very bottom of the injector and then the leakage pipe seal and thats it.

My 1KZ/TE manual only goes -injector seat-gasket-injector-gasket-leakage pipe-nut.

    and thats it.

I got both from toyota no problem, you can generally reuse the leakage pipe gaskets, unless they've been over tighten in the past and ruined.

      Thanks Tony.
That's what I thought. I will have to get the parts guy to look it up again.

I have no gaskets when I took the injector out and none putting them back in!

It would be nice if we could order parts directly from a Toyota Factory Supastore.

I snapped one of these and replaced it with a copper washer of identical size from my local motor factors. No leak at all and readily available from his box of washers at 6p.

ok I just thought I'd complete the thread.
As Tony said and as the online 1KZ-TE manual shows there are small collapsible washers that go between the injector and the nozzle seat and larger ali looking washers that go between the leak down pipes and the injector. These washers have 2 small (0.5mm) holes in them (either side of the big one on the middle of course).

Just for anyone else ordering these from toyota their diagram shows the washers above the leak down pipe and not below? So they did not want to order them unecessarily. They also looked at me, when I said "import" like I was a joke. "With imports a spoiler could be listed as a wheel nut so its difficult to find the right parts"
I explained that most toyotas were japanese made and imported. This engine in particular is found in other UK models as we all know.

Needless to say the parts were in fast and labelled Gaskets for the nozzle seat gaskets and washers for the leak down washers! I'm sure they just want me to be in the sales queue. Surpisingly no spoiler or gearbox arrived by mistake!

Nozzle Seat gaskets part no: 11177-64010
Fuel Leak down pipe washers part no: 23654-64010

Maybe this is why so many engines have them missing altogether? This is one of the common causes of "oil leak symptoms" and "Fuel leaks" found on the bottom of the bellhousing. Just diesel leaking and washing dirt and oil of the side of the engine.
