Head or head gasket gone?

Found out mine was a recon head from ukcylinderheads that was welded up - lasted 20,000 miles only. Not my decision but the previous owner!

It had failed on the No.2 cylinder as this was where it was repaired.

I have chosen a brand new genuine toyota head and head gasket from steve at engine company services. He diagnosed my old head and swapped the cam and valves over.

Knows what he is doing Cheers Steve!

It Lives!


Well the heads on, all the pipes, wires, etc etc on, new oil filter and oil, turned the key and vroom! the sweet sound of a happy 3.0ltr engine!

Water is back in and I've got tomorrow off to bleed it up, run it up and fit the new front anti roll bar bushes (found them whilst I was changing the oil)

Oh i'm a happy chappie again,

We should give Stevo an award for customer service above and beyond the call of duty, my spanners can go rusty again, I hope I haven't a need for them for some time!

No it was actually "hungry eyes" on clubland 6, but I missed my surf n my sound system so much it all came flooding back to me
