  • Steering full-lock clanking

Hi - anyone got some thoughts on these two?
    1) When turning full lock on the steering, my '95 3.0 Turbo Diesel makes a rather loud clanking sound
    2) When accelerating from a stop (mostly when accelerating around a corner - eg: pulling out on to a main road) there is a faint clunking underneath until I get going. Lasts only a second or so but its causing me some concern.
Can someone suggest I look at any areas in particular or have they had similar problems with their Surf?
    thanks

Hi Jim for your 1st question it is your steering stops all you need to do is to put a good dollop of grease on each one then problem solved.Someone else will answer your 2nd question as i aint got a clue

The second noise sounds like a broken anti roll bar bracket.

New ones are cheap from Roughtrax, and easy to replace.
          It just does, OK?

Great thanks for your help. Will give it a try. Have since found all the other threads - looks like the steering thing is common. Cheers
