Hi all,
I'm a littly confused and quite worried about my beloved truck. Up until a couple of days ago, she has been running like a dream with no cause for consern. The other day I had a near miss with a Rover (pardon My French) and had to slam on the anchors to avoid a collision! As I was lazily cruising along minding my own business I neglected to dip the cluch in my haste avoid the car in front!!! I know it sounds daft.
Because of the above, my surf juddered to a halt and attempted to lunge forward before coming to a stop. since this happened, the revs have not been continuous on tickover as if she is sometimes struggling to keep em steady.
Could the timing have jumped slightly on the cam belt?
Could I have damaged something?
Has anyone ever heard of this before?
Have just checked the oil and when the filler cap is off with the engine idling, it feels like an exhaust!!!
I'm really worried now... PLEASE HELP
