  • Dash board lights

Right these diesels and 4x4's are new to me, the thing is that the "t-belt light, battery light, water level thingy? light, a/t oil temp light" came on at first when I bought it but I changed the clock face to MPH and it has been fine ever since

2months later its just done it again

Checked all water and oil levels, batteys are nearly knocking on the right hand side of the meter on the dash so there charging, timing belt was changed days before i bought it,

has anyone else had this problem and if so WTF is it?? ??

    Cheers for any info

Care to enlighten me on how this could make all the lights come on?(I tinker with cars & engines abit)

I was thinking more on the lines of a loose connector block or something??

But you could be right am not saying your wrong so I will check it as well as any other surgessions if anyone else has any ideas?

These trucks do seem to behave in mysterious ways. One thing is this alternator problem. There's a few threads on here with the same outcome.

Can't explain it myself, but that's what seems to happen!!
        It just does, OK?

It's either not putting out enough charge, or it's as you say, loose connection somewhere.

If you type 'dash warning lights' into the search button, there's a few threads on the subject.

Make sure the alternator belts are tensioned correctly too.

Well checked it all today nothing loose, belts nice and tight , just looked at the amp meter its just above the half way line so is this about 12amp? I think I should check the batterys for levels and seperate charge then if thats all ok then it must be the alternator

Anyway I will be back to tell you all the out come

Sounds like a good ploy to take someone elses motor to the safari park to me!!!

Sh1t happens mate, unfortunately. If you get hold of a good auto leccy he should be able to recon it for you or at least put you in touch with someone that can. Had mine reconned 3 years ago, £25, if I remember correctly!
