Start clatter

Hi'yall
During the last week or so,our beast has developed a clattering noise on startup. It sounded like exhaust heat sheilds rattling but inspection showed all to be secure. It only occurs in the moments between the starter turning the engine over & it initially firing - as the starer disengages & it settles into idle all becomes well. Could be startup is accompanied by more engine rocking than there used to be. Any ideas?

try pumping the fuel primer pump until it's firm before you start up to see if that helps, there's a problem somewhere with mine and the engine rocks about a lot until it's got a full flow of fuel.
