by disconnecting the batteries it will reset the ecu(computer) on the surf and see if that will work.leave them disconnected for a short while and then re-connect

i have tryed this and its still the same left it of for about 4min

if the solenoid is worn out shifting in either drive or reverse wont make any difference cause the ECU doesnt know what gear you have selected

hi mate i had to fit a new tourque convertor last year as it felt like a slipping clutch and then lost all drive but i could hear a rattle in the bellhouseing .
it would catch and run then slip of and stop.

John thanks for your feed back how much does it cost to have a new tourque convertor fitted to my gearbox then estimate? thanks ounce again

hi mate i did it myself ( job and all ) and got the converter for £250 recon plus postage and it took about 4 hours each way plus a shed load if plasters ..
