A very loud crunching/s$$$$ing-type noise seems to eminate from my clutch or gearbox (or something) when I engage the clutch (it's not quite the sound of crunching gear changes but more of a s$$$$e).
It happens almost every time I change gear and occasionally it lingers after the clutch has completely engaged (until I dip the clutch again to get rid of it).
The strange thing is that after a few minutes of driving it goes away and doesn't return.
This has only started in the last couple of days.
Any ideas as to what this could be?
My clutch doesn't seem to slip at all, it can pull away comfortably in third and the biting point is quite low in the pedal travel.
