  • Auto box fluid quantity

Roight...I know this subject has been done to death, and yes, I have used the search facility...my post is really just to get some clarification. The posts i've read seem to suggest that there is approx 4-5 litres of fluid I need to purchase for the fluid change. Also it's dextron II that I need to buy...???

Can the knowledgable folk on here just clarify these points for me as the searching the previous threads has made me cock-eyed....

    Thanx all....Darren

Buy 5 liters and 1 or 2 liter bottles (it easier to fill with the spouts on the bottles) and fill it till the level is right. Look at how much you got out as a guide.

      so 7 litres altogether....right
also searching the posts...it seems o.k to just drain the oil and refill 3 or 4 times throughout the year for reasonably fresh A/T oil...instead of going through all the flushing process...is this right...???

Yeah, thats all I'd do, you normally get aboiut 4-5 liters out of it, but if you have spare......

i got about 4.5 lts out the sump but after i fitted the tourque converter i think it took about 10 -11 lts to fill it so a few sump changes over time will do it but i used dexron III , as it was free ( in work ).

Get dextron III. it is the new a/t oil and can be used in transmissions that take dextron II
