need a little help here guys
my 3 ltr surf 1994 model has a funny fan i need to fix. heres what happens ,get in start check mirrors an of i go slide the heater on 3 clicks to just before full power and after half an hour 15min it stops so i wiggle the switch a little and nothin happens so i put it in the off position and after a little while turn it on again and it works for about the same time15min half an hour then it dies again so if any of you cool surfers out there can help mabe i can keep warm this winter if not al have to sit in the back near the rear heater.golly gone

i think its not related to the switch but the resistor pack that the switch is linked too. this is normally located beside or on the fan housing . it's probably cutting out due to thermal shutdown.
only way to resolve,, new resistor pack,, thats only my opinion of course

Yep, reostat is always the first port of call.

With you on this one guys, had a simular problem with my old Volvo.

If you spray something cold on to the resistor pack (can't remember where it is I'm afraid) the fan should start up straight away. you can get specialest ('cuse the spellin) Freezer sprays for this sort of work, just check out any good electronic shop (eg RS spares / Maplins)
