  • head cracked on 94 3.0 ?????

just had a call from the garage and the head has cracked on my 3.0 with 68,000 miles on. now i thought these were pretty bullet proof!!!! Tony you had any of these come through??

they are paying the bill so its not a wind up, and they also replacing the rad with a new one.

feel like i dodged a pretty expensive bullet here, but all credit to the garage they not complaining or even tried to worm there way out of it. Pitstop in Biddullph Stoke on trent

Occasionally 3 litre heads have been known to crack though not that common. You just got unlucky.

Exactly, look at it this way, in 8 months, I've seen 1 cracked 3.0 head, 3 3.0 head gaskets, and 1 cracked 2.4 head every 2 weeks!

So no need to panic yet. Incedently, the only cracked 3.0 head was in a 97 UK spec Landcruiser.
