  • Just ordered Safari Snorkel Available in Ireland

Just to let the Oirish know,

I ordered a Safari snorkel today for my 96 surf.

Got it through theses guys http://www.hyvalift.com/Prod_Safari.html

    Part no SS146HFE

Was e370 including delivery to the door in Dublin,C.O.D.

Shipping was e70 so if ya can wait 4-6 weeks it wld be 300.

Will have it by next wednesday, worth the 70 yo yo's I think.

Colmn is ya man to talk to,I meantioned others might want one and he said he'd do something if there were a few ordered at the same time.

Probably cheaper for the U.K lads.....Is it???

Gonna be a busy few weekends...body lift and snorkel installations.

How many slabs of beer will that take??

Thats who i got my snorkel from a couple of months ago for €270. Might be exchange rate differences. Careful cutting those holes!

      Confusion

      Could anyone advise:

Looking at purchasing a safari snorkel and after reading this site and safari's thought the model would be SS106HF. Everything looks right through the wing for position to the air filter box.

However on the site it states 2.8L Diesel and the SS143HF states 3.0L [and on Brookes4x4 site it mentions SS143HF for the 1KZT Engine] but the year is for 1999 and the position through the wing looks too far down.

Anyone shed some light on the matter?

By all info the 146 or 143 are the way to go,I went for 146 shld have mine tomorrow.
do a search and you'll see all the discussion on various part numbers.

        The 106 wont fit,it's for a Prado.

The 106 has been fitted to several 2.4TD...gamedawn I believe....and as stated the 146 is for latter models...mine is 1995 which is covered under the SS106HF. Prados start at SS180HF??

Just sent an email to Safari in australia for clarification...
          Thanks for your words

            Safari response

            Seems funny

            > Hi Gary,
            >
            > Thanks for your e-mail and interest in Safari.
            >
            > However, we do not make any items for the Hilux Surf, as it is an imported vehicle.
            >
            > I'm sorry I can't assist you.

Reconfirmed that the vehicle is rebranded as the 4Runner and was informed that both models are present down-under but Safari dont do a snorkel for them???

2nd Gen 95 on M Plate, been looking at the exploded pictures on Safaris website and its funny how the Prado Kit looks closer with the Air Filter Box in situ
