Did you manage to get a new radiator top header tank?

My Radiator is perfect except the top header tank needs to be replaced.

yes mate, the local rad supplier also repairs rads.there fitter removed the orignal top tank and made a newer and larger tank out of plate brass he used the orignial filler ,hose connection and brackets,it then gets resoldered and painted .it fitted a treat and looks the dogs ,if i get time tomorrow i`ll post a picture .he also flushed the rad and checked for blockages ,on inspection he said the rad is now better than new ,it also holds about a litre more water .a large portion of his work comes from local 4x4 dealers ,one of his customers even has a spare made up for several models,he would have supplied a new rad but said the rad was to good to ditch .DONT CHUCK IT fix it

I've used Kingstons before for other cars of mine. They are very good and reasonably priced. How much did they charge cos I may get the same done for mine?

                  Cheers, Nick

                    Thanks for the details.

I called them, and the first thing they said was ,"is it the top tamk", it appears that this seems to be a common fault, they seemed to be a friendly bunch, so i have taken my rad out and will courier it down to them, will keep you posted on how it goes, hopefully they can save me a great deal of dosh

I had a call back from the boys @ Kingston rads, they said they can do the same for me, the price is £75+vat delivered, it sounds good to me, I told them that their details were on the surf owners club, and they were very happy to hear it and looked forward to any more custom. .

                          Hi

Got the rad back yesterday, they have replaced the top tank, problem solved, a great bunch of guys, and trustworthy, I would definately reccomend them.
