  • head light trimming

I have just bought my first Surf. Do they have head light trimmers especially for towing. Pardon the suggestion but I am always getting flashed at for my beams seem to be blinding oncoming drivers

They're probably flashing you cos they admire your Surf so much!

In the MK2 Surf 1989-94 the only way to adjust is get the bonnet up and adjust manually (towing is not common practice in Japan). If in doubt have them adjusted at a garage.

just a thought but it may be that your surf is suffering the sagging rear end as many do and new springs will raise the rear and lower the headlight beam ,iam not saying you have a saggy rear end though .lol

yeah, you need to point them down a little, only the UK 4Runner have adjustable headlights. If you can find one in a breakers it could be retro fitted, but only if you have a flush headlight model, If you have pickup style headlights, UK pickups may have them, and would be an eaiser find over here.

As already stated you could have the saggy a**e syndrome. I found this with mine after outting the trailer on the back...The birds in the trees thought is was daytime all the time.

Measure from the centr of the hub to the underside of the wheelarch without the trailer attached and if below 14-15" if correctly rembered then you have butt sag.

Right - so thats a limited slip diff AND adjustable headlights I need from a 4Runner now. OK - where do I find a dead 4Runner?

you sure they're adjusted right for normal driving?... weight of trailer nose should only be (um 80kg??)... shouldn't affect it much?
