Alternator problem

Just had 2 new batteries fitted and they weren’t charging.
Checked the alternator and some times it was and sometimes it wasn’t charging them.
Took it out and found a local fella who fixes alternators and starter motors
Took it around this morning and had a call 4 hours later from him.

The rectifier has disintegrated to nothing.

He has fixed the problem by replacing the rectifier and I’m picking it up tomorrow morning before work. Says it working just like new now.

£40 fixed. With a 12 month warranty
Better than the £200 for a new one!!!

Well done. The rectifier was the problem when my alternator gave up too.
