How can you have vacuum and pressure at the same time?

Vaccum is pressure, its just negative rather than positive.

So, how can you have positive and negative at the same time?

Took my car out. No white smoke and engine feels as good as it was before the hose fell off. Although haven't tried it up a steep hill.

Vacuum pressure. Negative psi or bar. (suction (negative) pressures on fridge compressors, and discharge (positive) pressure for example)
