i get anything from 350-430k on a tank of juice but after owning a 2.2 petrol frontera and that doing 300miles to £56 of petrol then i think the surf is a hell of a lot better.i wouldn't change the surf now for any other motor

I would give her a good service, then check your injectors - I changed mine and got much better mpg. 17mpg is low - even with a leaky injector washer my 3.0 averaged 21 around town and about 23 on long runs. If you still have no joy then as previously suggested get a good mechanic to check her out for you.
