    Hi guys

    Wondering if anyone can help?

I've a 93' 2.4 that has started to blow smoke. It's gradually got worse over the last few months. It's regularly serviced by a knowledgable bloke and he tells me not to worry. Thing is I do. It's a blue/black smoke which leads me to think it's oil related, but it's not using a great deal of oil.

Could it be piston rings? Injectors? or something else?

The smoke is worse on start up but does die down and also occurs at gear change. Even when warm I still get smoke on start up.

    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

Have you tried a deisel additive, Millers got rid of all the smoke from our 2.4 while your using it.

Maybe it just needs a decoke (can of Redex and lots of loud pedal up the motorway usually does the trick.)

What sort of use goes it get? if it doesn't get warmed up properly or used up the motorway for any amount of time, any motor will get choked up.

I work away from home for reasonably long periods so it does sit for upto six weeks at a time. When I get back though I'm always on long journeys. I'll give the redex or similar a blast and see if it works. Thanks

Carefull with the Millers though, just use it once or twice, I started getting a code 12 (search for it) until I stopped using it. But it did clean out the engine.

Linda's been using for nearly a year, it stopped it smoking and got way better MPG and stunning performance. Would recommend it for anyone who needs to clean out the motor.
