all the belts seem tight however the pulley on the drivers side of the engine near the bottom is loose got a spanner on the bugger but could'nt tighten any more. doesn't squeek on start up only once warmed up and stops if you add a few revs or slap on air con tis a 93 2.4td. i ve had my share of engine trouble and don't really want any more

That pulley has two things you need to do to adjust it.

First loosen the pivot bolt, second wind in the adjusting bolt that moves it on the track. finally tighten the pivot bolt again

If you have reached the limit of the adjustment on that one then you have one seriously stretched belt and you need a new one. You can get them from Milners and you may as well get a complete set while you are at it.

    Cheers
