  • Rough road

    Hi All
I've not done much off road stuff, but to get to a lake I fish, I need to travel about !/2 mile up a rough mountan track. Surface has eroded away and left rocks and steps, it looks a bit like a river bed. Whats the best way to tackle it, can I use 4 WD or will it wind up and cause problems.?

You should be fine on that sort of surface. I was off-road last weekend in the lakes and there was a few sections like what you described, and the Surf was fine in 4wd, occasionally low range where required.

Basically as long as it's not a hard flat surface like tarmac you should be OK. However, give it a try in 2wd anyway, I'm amazed at what my Surf can cross without the need for 4wd.
