Hello all,
The old jeep's just through the test again, bit of welding this time (replacement front crossmember (under the rad), and a wee bit to the sill just ahead of the rear wheel). I fitted a new rad last summer as a precaution, as the old one had lost so many fins, and re-oiled the fan while I was at it. The front brakes are now past their best, get a bit sticky at times, so I've just ordered calipers and pads from RT.
So, she keeps rolling on, reliable as ever... even getting admiring glances up here in the highlands where I think people realise what capable machines these things still are. The new Hiluxs are very popular up here, and there's been a rash of those VW Amaroks on the road, but I wouldn't swap the Surf for any of 'em!
