Hi all,
Wondering if anyone could shed some light on my power loss issue. My Hilux will only go about 40mph tops, though it can rev up way beyond 3000 no worries.
Many years ago I had this problem and the mechanic told me they were struggling to time it up properly, then when they finally managed it the power came back and everything was normal again.
Now, the latest mechanic is saying that the lack of power is due to the fact that it is leaking diesel from its fuel pump.
Can a leaking fuel pump stop the power getting to the wheels? Or is this mechanic trying to blame the fact that he cant time it up properly on a leaking fuel pump?
Any advice would be much appreciated, this has been winding me up for ages.
