  • More Power Needed

    Hi Guys

Im looking to performance tune my 1993 2.4TD SSR-X.

Ive had many a Petrol Turbo'd car so i was thinking:

    1. Could i put a bleed valve in the pipe going to my Waste Gate Actuator to get it to hold boost for longer and therefore develop more power??

    2. Could i get a performance chip for my Surf ie a Superchip or a Star chip??

    3. Would fitting a an Intercooler between the turbo and the intake make any difference on these beasts??

    4. If i wanted to fit a Nitrous setup, what precautions would i need to take?? (not really keen on this idea tho)

You bought a BEAST thats 2 tonnes with a diesel engine.
Nitrous is a no no as the engine is too heavy & you wont really benefit from it.
No chip is known to be available
Intercooler has been done but dont know of the benefits
There is a mod for the TURBO
Use the search facility for more info.

I been looking at getting an intercooler done (or I will be when I fix my truck) and I spoke to Andrew at Alisport (www.allisport.com). I have reprinted his reply below. However, I have the 2LT engine which as far as I know has mechanical (not electrical) fuel injection so the "chipping" is not required (thus saving money).

Can anyone confirm I am right as I am not 100% sure.

Also I posted on here a while back asking if anyone has had this fitted to a 2.4 (I know some have had it on a 3.0) and what there thoughts were but nobody replied so I guess nobody has one on a 2.4 (at least nobody who read my post anyway).
