Rad caps.

Hi all.

Have an on going problem with pressure fluctuation on the rad hoses.

Have old rad cap (presumably original) that came with car. This cap seems to work fine, but when on the pressure is ok-quite soft.

Fitted a Sankei (Milner supplied) new cap and boom- pressure on pipes was balloon effect.

Put old one back on- pressure went down.

Bought second new cap- different company but from Milners. Fitted it and boom, up went the pressure again.

Very confused.

The pressure seems normal on old cap and high on new. Car running ok on all caps.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like your rad hoses are shot and gone soft.
