My Surf has a battery kill switched fitted on the dashboard, it worked before I removed the engine to replace the head but, hasn't worked since I put it all back together. The only thing that I didn't put back was an earth lead that looked very aftermarket and ran from the passenger side battery to the drivers side battery with two ring connectors bolted to the inner wings.
There an alarm on the Surf that has one of those jack plug type things that needs to be placed over a socket on the dash to disable it, the jack plug type thing wasn't supplied with the surf, so I have a red light flashing constantly. I'm thinking this may well be contributing to the batteries being drained when standing for a couple of days, and possibly also the reason for the kill switch being fitted by someone, could this be the case? Or, are the kill switches standard or an optional extra?
