  • any help on this please?

Hi, tracking a performance problem on 2.4TD Surf SSR ltd.
Basically very under powered, gets to @55 with pedal down, slow up hill. Recon turbo quite recent by last owner, but appears to be a turbo boost problem.

I have a unit under the bonnet that looks like a vacuum sensor- it has a tube that has been sheared off pretty flush leaving a hole, will this cause an air leak which would affect the turbo. Can I just seal it, or has any one got a spare they wouldnt mind selling me.
The attatched photo isnt very clear sorry about that, as you look at it its the top connection on the unit.
    Thanks for any advice

Can't make out from the picture if its just a case of the little filter missing or a pipe missing.
Indeed if it should be a pipe on there then it will make a big difference to the vaccum side of things and stuff won't run correctly.
Say not always what you know, but always know what you say.

Thanks very much for all of your help, ive identified the missing bit- it appears to be a rubber block.
All of the rest of the pipes seem to be connected fine.
If any more info is available like the block contains some spring loaded valve or a filter then i would be interested in finding one, local dealer said the whole assembly would have to be ordered in, but failed to phone back with any prices.
If anyone has one on a spares pile, or where to get one from someone who breaks 2.4 TDs Id love to know, probably include the part the block plugs into as that was sheared off some time ago, prior to my purchase.
Just one of those annoying bits that Im resolving My wife has already joked that Im becoming a bit of an enthusiast

hi again thanks for all of your help on this. Been in touch with Silverlake- they get the odd Surf in but havent got the part at present.
Guessing this is just a rubber block im going to block the hole for the moment, but if any one comes across one just let me know, thanks again.

Yes it is indeed, thank you
Tried Wight Motors, young lad was keen to help but another guy was more interested in "should have bought one designed for this country"... scum import attitude- they never rang back with a price after visiting them, lost the cost of a full service including all tx fluids etc!
Atleast I know what im after now, thanks to all for help
