Got a problem... Lower wishbone camber adjust bolt is seized!
Truck needs new lower ball joint but this is stuck very tight (near side). So, I am trying to remove the lower wish bone AND the front wheel bearing/axle housing and then I can work on the lower ball joint easier. So, I slid out the front camber adjust bolt no problem, but the rear one is stuck tight. It rotates but no amount of bashing with a sledge will budge it. As it rotates (I have now ground off the lobes/cams on the bolt head) it also tries to rotate the wishbone - so, is it a bent bolt, or is it just seized with 20yrs of gung??
I am now thinking about cutting the whole lower wishbone off and replacing with a new one - to do this is a lot of grinding through the wishbone and of course cost to replace.
I have seen some similar treads and they talk about 9" angle grinding between the chassis and the wishbone - real thin disc - to grind through the bushing and the bolt.
Help - I'm beginning to think this might be the end of the truck - any help or similar experiences would be helpful
