Taking it to a mechanic mate today, realized that I'm on the edge when driving it so am not taking it out unless really necessary.

My mate noticed some fluid at the bottom of the rad, so have tried some rad weld, so far so good. Have found that I need a new switch for my electric fan.

Hope you're getting on ok with it, and I suppose if the radweld's working it's working. However, I'd advise that you now plan a rad re-core or replacement, and a thorough flush-through and new stat.

You'll really regret it if it overheats, as a wee bit spent now will seem nothing next to the head job... The viscous fan is well worth doing also, you can get the silicon oil required for a few quid from a radio-control car supplier (they use it in the shocks apparently!).

Found a reasonably priced new rad on ebay.


New radiator arrived
Not as good as a 3 core Roughtrax unit.

bought as a temporary replacement while my leaking rad gets repaired.

Surprised it came with drain tap & oil cooler connectors.
