Hello all,
As above really, Roughtrax are a wee bit more money than Milner, and the latter doesn't mention that the springs are handed? Has anyone fitted either and could comment?
My new Surf is going great, having just transported us all down to Ironbridge (and back!) to see the in-laws. It's 512 miles each way, and she never missed a beat. I'd had the atf changed the week before we went, and was rewarded with 29 and a 1/4 miles to the gallon too!
However, with the weight of us, the kids, the dogs and enough luggage to live for a month aboard, she developed a definite lean to the nearside rear (that's not really gone away since emptying), very annoying to on-coming drivers at night! So, that's the next job.
Another wee niggle I've come across is the proximity of the steering column to the alternator vacuum pipe, mine contacts the plastic sleeve over the u/j-type joint with the alt belt tightened up. Have slackened it off just now to move the alternator away a bit, hopefully a new belt will sort. The belt fitted looks brand spanking though...
I don't know how common this is, just posting to alert anyone with a slight notchy feeling in the steering that there is something else to check.
Any comments appreciated,
Cheers, Ron.
