  • Fuel Pump Leaking.

    When first started from cold the truck has a constant dribble of fuel from the fuel pump.
    When it is warm this slows down.But never stops.
    As it is not leaking from the top seals and the leak is evident running down the font and eventually over the steering damper and front diff electrics, would I be correct in assuming that the leak is from the fuel pump shaft seal?

    Do any of you know? ;
    Seal size or part number?
    Can this be done in situ without removing the pump.
    One assumes that with the pump sprocket and woodruff key removed you would be able to pick it out?

    Probably can be removed carefully. Never done this myself. If you scratch the shaft then you are in trouble.

    Same seal on the earlier mechanical pumps.

        In case you still haven't done the repair my advise is to replace all the seals as you have to take the pump out to do the front seal. I got a kit from John Allett which is very good quality for ₤20, includes all the seals rings clips etc for the mechanical and VE (EFI) pumps. his ebay ad

        or his site

        good luck!

          Good find
          The pump rebuild is on hold now until the Dis-Astra is reliable or replaced.
