hey guys, what a week I've had lost my job n now my 2.4 is destroying itself....

so driving up the motorway at about 60 and all of a sudden a real fast knocking happens soninpull off the slip road and into the first garage quite close by, when I start it it will fire but it'd noisy and ir took off thru rocker cover and nothing in there but the noise seems to be coming from the open intake (other side of the turbo) its loud and klacky.
have recently filled up on kerosene 80%kero 20%diesel also the oil pressure was low and low on the stick so I topped it up and it brought the pressure back up. no warning lights etc.

any ideas guys I really don't wanna be stripping the sump out of it just to peek in like my dad thinks is a good idea. any tests I can do?
    thanks
    Kyle

The noise you can hear is probably diesel knock caused by too much Kerosene and not enough diesel.

            Spun big-end bearing? Rod knock?
Drain the oil and look for metal particles.

            Whats the oil pressure like?

I drained it its clean bar one partical on the nut. microscopic. oil pressure was low when it happened I put 2 liters in it and brought the oil pressure back up

A video with sound may help if you can do that. A drop of 2 stroke oil provides the lubrication for the pump that kerosine does not have.

I considered kero myself, does or have more or less power as I have heard conflicting things. I was mainly worried about the hotter burn putting pressure on the cooling system.

Have you tried a compression test?

yep there is a video up the page a bit. so me n my dad have started tearing it down a lot of bits n bobs in there to take off to get the head out, will have it out tomorrow. any idea would be greatly appreciated.

it is noisy as hell and shook the crap outta the engine,

tried a little white spirit in the tank and its not done anything.

it deffo had more power on kerb without a doubt it pulls far harder and smoother but who knows if its feked my engine...

do a search, at the top of the home page. lots of info ref crank pulley, how to remove etc.

right so.... my front piston has clipped the top of the head where the injector inlet is, a small portion of the piston has broke off and has scored the inside of the barrel or liner a little, the front piston sits slightly proud of the block and rocks and knocks quite easily within thru liner weather its up on down the block. will post another quick vid now
