  • Rear wheel arch extension - removal

The last thing I need to do to get my Surf MOT'd again is to get some welding done. I need to get the passenger side rear wheel arch extension off first.

I've searched, but could I just get confirmation from someone who knows; is it simply a case of removing the rivets and self tapping screws which are visible on the underneath of the extension? Or are they stuck on/fixed on elsewhere?

    Many thanks.

Pretty much, but there's one plastic clip inside which you need to be careful not to break. Try and pull the bit by the sill / door straight out as twisting it will snap the clip. It's like a door trim clip but longer.

There's one screw that's hidden by the sidesteps if you have them fitted btw

Having just tried to get mine of the shell this morning, there are some pop in plastic widgets like the trim ones behind the arch..and god my arches were fragile, I gave up on it...

      Take your time.

      Good luck.
