    Hi all
    I own a 2.4 1992 ssr-x, which I am very pleased with.
About three weeks ago, a friend of mine bought a surf from a guy in kent, he then drove it home and when he pulled into the drive, the engine blew (hes put a post in previous to this one, dazzo23).Anyway, I am now having nightmares about it hapening to me as I now tow a caravan with mine and i am well aware that I am now working the engine harder than normal. What I need some advice about is thus:
    1) What position are the oil and coolant temperature gauges normally seen, My oil temp gauge is normally at just between 1/2 and 3/4, and more importantly my coolant temp gauge runs just a fly!!!! below1/2. Is this normal?
2)Where can I find a detailed thread on maintaining the coolant system?I am a mechanical fitter so I understand big words (not too big mind!!)
3)does anybody know if a workshop manual on cd rom exists?. normally you can find one on ebay but so far I have had no luck.

Thankyou for reading this and hopefully for helping me, and DAZZO23, if you hav read this........I wont mention the hydraulic winch wind up to my new found mates........YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!!

Temp is right always sits a tad below half way, oil temp gauge is the oil pressure gauge, see attached pic.
Always best to drain and flush out the coolant system, make sure both heaters are set to hot before draining and flushing. Replae stat and rad cap while your at it. Fill slowly via the rad cap and make sure there is only a couple of inches of water in the expansion tank, see fill line on the side of the bottle.
Fill system and start motor run for a minute giving a good couple of blips of the loud pedal. Turn off and recheck level, refill as required, repeat until level doesn't drop. Take for a run and check levels once cooled, keep heaters to hot, then just check level for a couple of days after, mine shifted some some more air the day after I drained it.
