  • Kickdown cable

Taken up the slack in the throttle cable and I would like to confirm the adjustment on the kickdown cable..

    * Throttle at wide open position
    * metal float on kc should protrude 0-8mm from the end of the rubber boot

Even after throttle adjustment the kc adjustment looks correct but I can still pull the cable another 20mm until the lever on the gearbox bottoms out, is this just normal free play in the lever?

    Much apreciated!

Some of the pages on here say on full throttle the bush should just protrude (0-1mm) out from the rubber sleeve and others say the gap between the bush and rubber sleeve should be where the gap is..

My bad meant to type 0-0.8mm not 8mm!

What it is, even with the kick down cable at correct adjustment, you can still pull the cable another 20-30mm before the spindle in the gearbox bottoms out. Cable is not broken as it springs back, just wondering if my cable is badly stretched or is this extra travel on the spindle supposed to be there.

Don't want to just play with things before asking more experienced people like yourselfs!
