Roof Rack

Any idea what roof rack I should get for my j reg ssrx 2.4? Went to Hallfords today and they were worse than useless? Was planning on a Thule top box but hadn't realised they were so expensive.Any thoughts or help?

Jotto, not sure those details are right. I've got Thule bars fitted to mine and the foot pack is 750, the fitting kit was, I believe, 085 and the bars are either 761 or 762. Apparently you can't use the Rapid system as they don't make a kit for the 4Runner (Surf obviously not listed).

Hi Jotto,

Yes, you're right. I checked this in the book at Halfrauds and they only quoted the Rapid system (my mistake). Their book didn't quote the older style system which is probably cheaper than the Rapid type, although they do seem to fit easier but are more expensive. I was nearly right with the fitting kit (1085 not 085). As I already had the bars the foot pack, fitting kit and locks came to about £80.
