  • Guess What ??? Over Heating

It happened on sunday just loke an episonde from Midsomer Murders, the gauge started to rise we stopped and then it hit the red. AA did pressure test suggested head gasket or head. Being a pesimist it has to the head. So I either wait for the local decent garage to look at it the earliest next monday or I strip it down next weekend and order a new head from UK heads any moral support or words of wisdom.

It would happen just before were due to go on holiday.

    Stevie.

Sorry to hear about it. My advice is to do it yourself. At least you know that it is done properly.

If you trip it down before you order the head, then at least you won't order one if you don't need it. When I got mine from UKcylinderheads, it was delivered next day, they also do the gaskets.

Good luck, if you need to do it, it's not a difficult job, just time consuming - budget for about 14 hours - Two full days plus a morning to check everything before you fire it up, test drive it and then check everything again.

Photos of where everything goes before you strip it down - vaccum hoses, electrics etc is the best bit of advice you will get, I learnt the had way as have a few other people.

    Cheers
