    Well that's 1/2 way through its recommended life, its a bit of a nuisence job on the 2.4, if you're going to be covering that sort of mileage in the next year or so could save going through it all again.

    Technically you need to be careful refitting an old belt, make sure it goes back the same way round.

    If the idlers/tensioners where new last time they are probably ok after that sort of mileage (you'd hope...), but check them by hand and make sure they are smooth and free spinning.

    If the belt has been getting coolant on it its another reason to just change it just in case.

    The cambelt counter isn't effected by the batteries.

      I am pretty sure the F I L had the cam belt done whilst he had the truck.
      I have taken your advice on board but will have to wait a couple of weeks before I can get the cam belt done,however if tomorrow when I strip it out to change the pump the belt looks fubarred then it will have to become priority,(just shelled out for new rear springs and ARB links).
      Eat.Sleep.Surf.Repeat.
