  • Grease??

Have read in my repair manual about 'White Grease' its says "is a heavy grease for metal to metal application where water is a problem. Stays soft under both low and high temp (-56 to +106 degrees C) and will not wash off or dilute in the presence of water"

What I was wondering is if this could this be used to grease the parts that generally need doing after 'off roading or after going through water etc, so they wouldn't need doing as ofter?

I wouldn't go changing the grease, as all seals are designed for grease of a certain viscosity. Using a thicker grease may result in them blowing.

However, white grease (or any thick grease) is good as a 'belt & braces' measure for seals, nuts, and even the grease nipples themselves, for protection against water ingress.

From experience, grease is better than water in the majority of situations!

I'd rather be scared to death than bored to death
