I would not attempt to restart that engine until the timing belt was checked. It may have skipped a tooth or two or worse.

Do a code check as Tony suggests. If you get a Timer Control Valve code then I would check the belt for sure.

Hopefully it will not be too serious but keep us updated. I wish we had a surf mechanic somehere in Worcestershire.
