    Does it run when the engine is cold?

        It's the back-up cooling fan, it automatically switches on when the engine gets to about 90 degrees.
        The temperature switch is either faulty, has broken terminal/plug or sinply a loose connection.
        It's the grey plug facing the passenger side of the truck, under the coolant filler cap on top of the engine.
        The other sender (the smaller of the two) is for the temperature gauge.

            No.

                if you always have the A/C on, the fan will always run.

                  2" sus/body lift when your back up and running :-)

                        When I start my engine my viscous fan turns for a few seconds until I assume the rotation moves the oil around.

                          Ok, I had a look this morning and this is what I have found;

                          This is the fan that is spinning before i have even started the engine and keeps spinning until i have removed the keys.

                          I looked at the connection you mentioned and that appears to be ok however temp guage one you mentioned is slightly damaged.

                          I am far from mechanically minded but i'm hoping the connectors are easy to get ahold of??

                            The one you have in your hand is the Thermo Fan Switch. The other is for gauge. You need a new switch.

                            You guys get ripped off on the price of these. Down here we can get an aftermarket one for about $40.00 which is 26.3819 GBP.

                            It's just a normally closed 97 degC on, 92 degC off switch with an M16 X 1.5 thread.
