If you do find a faulty plug, I'd advise you to replace all 4.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

So I'd be looking for a plug with higher resistance than the rest. ? And yes I'd change all 4 if that is the fault

Yes, remember to check them with the bus bar disconnected (watch how the insulators go together). Sorry if that sounds obvious, but some have tested them with it still connected.

Will check them later on today and if I get stuck I'll give you a shout. If I don't I'll let you know what I find thanks again

[QUOTE=Albannach]2.4s have an ignition on buzzer that has the same length of timer as the big glow plug relay. I disabled all the warning buzzers on my 2.4, they became annoying!

I think you will find the glow plug relay goes off about 5 seconds before the buzzer - that’s if you had not disabled it. On my surf waiting the extra few seconds makes all the difference and I’ve been running it for over 3 years now. Over the years I had numerous diesels and going on the glow plug light does not always work.

I thought the forum was all about exchanging ideas, not dismissing suggestions out of hand?

On a 2.4 Surf, the 'ignition on' buzzer and the glow plug relay are on roughly the same length of timer. There certainly isn't 5 seconds between them.

The 'ignition on' warning buzzer has absolutely nothing (non coincidental) to do with the glow plug relay timer, the glow plug light has little to do with the glow plug relay timer.

I'm not dismissing anything out of hand; I'm just telling you that there is next to no relationship between the 3 things.
