Noticed my MPG has been getting steadily worse of late, and when heading out today I noticed an oily patch where I had been parked and lots of spots where I'd been reversing. Left it running and took a look underneath, sure enough...diesel was dripping out of somewhere. Did a quick run for an errand then came back, got the overalls on and of course, cannot find the drip any more.
I've followed the fuel pipes going into the pump and out and nothing obvious. The fuel pump itself is slightly damp on the inner side (closest to engine) but the bottom of the head under the inlet manifold seems to look the most damp. As it's not too easy to see under there, does anyone know of any common areas for it to leak under there, so at least I can start tracing it down?
