  • Spacer ring for crankshaft gear?

Hi everyone, I'm new to working on vehicles so please bear with me. I bought a 1992 Surf LN130 2L-TE a couple months ago and it had a bad oil leak from the bottom of the timing belt case so I assumed the seal on the crankshaft was probably gone.

I took it all apart after getting a new timing belt kit and am in the process of putting it all back together, but I can't remember where this one spacer goes. I'm quite sure it was on the front side of the crankshaft gear (front side meaning the spacer would be put on after the crankshaft gear is put on), but I can't be certain and I really don't want to break something.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Yep, front of crank gear and have the smoother side toward belt.

Awesome, thanks so much. I suppose this will teach me to write more notes down next time. :P
