I had a wierd knocking from the front end of my 1991 hilux ssr (import) yesterday, looked all over and couldnt find anything really obviously loose. Well today i went to park up and the front passenger wheel fell off!!!! luckily the truck sat on the wheel so no damage there but some studs are bent and 1 has sheared off. Does anyone know if the studs are pressed in or bolted/screwed on. All the wheel nuts had come off, which strikes me as wierd and i am not sure how it has happened. All advice is welcome.

You have to remove the caliper and hub. Split the disc from the hub and press out the studs.
I'd be checking everything for bent bits.

at a guess someones either been trying to nick the wheels and been disturbed or someone doesn't like you and undid the wheelnuts.
