gear shift illumination?Continued....

Well,went to change the bulb in gear indicator consul,easy-peasy....not!
Went to put it back together and behold I've got no drive to the g/box.So I pull it all apart,can't see any probs back together it goes,still no drive and the O/D light is flashing at me,apart,together,apart.Time for a fag,30 mins later put it back together and hey presto,I now have drive again.
Anybody had this before and found out what the problem was?
I still haven't got a diddly little 3.4watt bulb for it either,dont know if I want to replace the bulb anymore either.

check if you accidentally knocked the 4wd selector stick into n or 4l as i did this and could not get drive to g/box.for normal road use the selector should be in 4h put auto into N and 4wd into 4h should now get drive.

anyone know what the o/d light flashing means???

is this a gearbox fault warning??
