hi can anyone shine a light on truck gear probleams,

got back in truck started ok but can't get drive, goes in gear reverse light is on but wont move, had to be towed out of carpark,no forward or reverse but starts.

You probably have the t/case in neutral?

Dosn't normally give you the O/D light though, if its not the above, do the fault code thing to see if there are any electrical problems.

The AT/P light means the t/case is in neutral, so P on the autobox won't do anything for stopping the truck rolling off and to put the handbrake on.

Short lever should be pulled back towards the seat. Give it a good tug as sometimes it can be difficult due to lack of use.
The crunching sound is because the gears are trying to mesh together.

Put the transmission in 'P' and slowly pull the short transfer lever back towards you until you feel/hear the gears mesh.

If it's oil, it normally gets worse over time, dosn't often go from working to not in one go. But could be.

Unless its sprung a big leak, when was the last time you checked the level?
