Get it pressure tested while off if you can't see cracks in the head between the valves, its not much in the big scheme of things

Then check the block deck for level.

If it passes then its only the gasket that failed, bung it back together and you'll be a happy bunny.

You really don't need to think about another engine yet, if ever, I've rarely seen a duff 2.4 block.
